GNARLY SACS was one of a number of two-piece projects helmed by Richard Converse in 2015. Being the one which made the most headway and had the catchiest name I simply adopted the moniker and have been writing, performing, and releasing music under the name GNARLY SACS ever since. The original vision of a punk rock two-piece was held together for a few years but I never really found the one to serve as the jam in my jelly roll so to speak. So far GNARLY SACS has released four studio albums, three e.p.s, and a single which have been mostly self-produced in my garden shed turned project studio which I have dubbed Harmony Outpost (with the exception of 2016’s ‘Sacs To The Max’ which was recorded at Wonderland Studios in Austin, TX). In 2016 and 2017 GNARLY SACS embarked on two tours, which when combined, span the entire continental United States. These days I can be seen performing several nights a week in Central Texas at various open mics and songwriters’ nights.
